Welcome to the site for Tideswell Tennis Club.

Based in the village next to the school we welcome members from Tideswell and surrounding villages as well as visitors to the area.

We have the use of two newly resurfaced and floodlight asphalt courts, shared with other sporting activities here.  We have regular use of the courts and coaching sessions for juniors and adults are available.

We particularly welcome new members to the club and encourage you to come along and join us during one of our club sessions to meet our members and play some tennis.

Current Court times:

We have arranged with Tideswell Sports Association access times to the courts.  These times are for the short term only and will change as the use of the MUGA develops across other users.  Currently (April 2021) times reserved for the Tennis Club are:

Monday:      6-9pm
Tuesdays:   Junior coaching 4pm-6.30pm:  Adult coaching 7.30-8.30pm
Tuesdays:   Adult social evening following coaching (possibly earlier if a court is not being used for coaching)
Thursdays:  7.30pm onwards (possible from 6pm if the footballers don’t need it, TBC)
Saturdays:  10am -12 not for Tennis Club Use.  At other times but need too to be booked*.
Sundays:     Courts need to be booked *.

*  A booking system is almost in place which will be needed when you want to play outside club allocated time.  It is being organised by the Sports Association, details to come.

Please note that the courts are currently used by the school during term at the times listed below so there is limited availability for booking.  They are generally available after 4.30pm.  They will not be in use by the school during the holidays.  Summer holidays run from Thursday 22nd July through to Monday 6th September 2021.

COVID precautions: (updated 2nd April 2021)
There are two hand sanitizer dispensers in the tennis net box. Please take one on to the court and leave beside the net for use during play (and remembering to put back in the net box afterwards).
Further LTA guidance suggests:
1) wash your hands thoroughly before leaving home.
2) maintain 2m distance whenever possible.
3) club nights and organised coaching sessions are exempt from the rule of six. At other times there should be no more than 6 people mixing from different households.

Stay safe.
